Many of us sit for most of the day: at work, on the road and in the evening. The WHO and NHS both advise reducing long periods of sitting and replacing some of that time with any kind of activity.
Simple ideas
- Stand up and move for a few minutes every 30 to 60 minutes.
- Take phone calls standing or walking.
- Walk over to talk to a colleague instead of messaging.
- Use the stairs where you can.
- Try our Desk Break Mobility workout during the day.
Small breaks add up, and they can help you feel less stiff and more alert.
