Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal information Fitbody Zone collects through the fitbodygh.com website and the Fitbody Zone app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Fitbody Zone is operated from Ghana. If you have questions, email info@fitbodygh.com.
The website
You can use fitbodygh.com without an account. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on the website. Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request) to keep the site secure and working, and we keep them only as long as we need them for that.
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Exercise videos come from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode: nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play, and once you do, YouTube's privacy policy applies to that video.
Information you give us in the app
- Account details: your name, email address and password, or the details shared by Google or Apple if you sign in with them.
- Profile and fitness details you choose to add: for example age, gender, height, weight, goals and fitness level. We use these to suggest suitable workouts and to show your progress.
- Activity in the app: workouts and recipes you save or are assigned, progress you record, and posts, comments and photos you share in the community area.
- Messages to us: anything you send when you contact support.
Information collected with your permission
- Steps: if you allow it, the app reads your step count from your phone's motion sensor or health service (Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android). We read steps only, to show your activity, and you can turn this off in your phone's settings.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to add a profile picture or share a photo.
- Notifications: if you allow them, we send reminders and updates using Firebase Cloud Messaging and OneSignal, which receive a device identifier to deliver them.
Information collected automatically by the app
We use Google Firebase to run parts of the app: Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage for chat and uploads, Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used, and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports. These services process device and usage information such as device model, operating system, app version and a device identifier.
Optional features
- AI assistant: if the in-app assistant is switched on and you use it, the messages you type are sent to OpenAI to generate replies. Don't include medical or other sensitive details in those messages.
- Payments: if paid plans are offered, payments are handled by the payment provider you choose (such as Paystack or Stripe). We don't receive or store your full card details.
How we use information
We use your information to run your account, provide and personalise the app, keep Fitbody Zone secure, fix problems, understand how the service is used so we can improve it, and contact you about your account. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share your fitness or activity details with other members unless you choose to post them.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us run Fitbody Zone (hosting, Google Firebase, OneSignal, and, where used, OpenAI and payment providers), under their own terms and only for those purposes; or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep some of it to meet legal obligations.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@fitbodygh.com. In Ghana, these rights come from the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843); if you live elsewhere, your local law may give you similar rights. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Children
Fitbody Zone is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We'll update this policy if the way we handle information changes and show the date of the latest version at the top. For significant changes we'll also let app users know.
