Video: “Ab Wheel Rollouts (Beginner to Advanced Progressions)” by Zack Henderson on YouTube. Plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
How to do it
A demanding core exercise with an ab roller. Start from your knees and roll out only as far as you can control.
- Kneel on a mat holding the ab wheel on the floor under your shoulders.
- Brace your stomach and tuck your pelvis slightly.
- Roll the wheel forward slowly, keeping your back from sagging.
- Roll back to the start using your stomach muscles.
Tips and safety
- Roll out a short distance at first and increase gradually.
- Stop if you feel it in your lower back rather than your stomach.
Move within a comfortable range and stop if you feel pain. If you have an injury or health condition, check with a qualified professional first.
