Lifting a kettlebell from the floor with a hip hinge. It strengthens your glutes, hamstrings and back and teaches the safe way to lift.
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart and a kettlebell on the floor between your feet.
- Push your hips back and bend your knees to reach the handle, keeping your back flat and chest up.
- Grip the handle, brace your stomach and stand up by driving your hips forward.
- Lower it back to the floor the same way.
Tips and safety
- Keep the kettlebell close to your body.
- Start light and learn this before the kettlebell swing.
