How to do it
A powerful jump from a squat that builds leg strength and fitness. It's high-impact, so learn the bodyweight squat first.
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Squat down with your arms back.
- Swing your arms forward and jump straight up.
- Land softly on the balls of your feet, bend your knees and go straight into the next squat.
Tips and safety
- Land quietly; soft knees protect your joints.
- Swap for bodyweight squats if you have knee or ankle pain, or are just starting out.
Move within a comfortable range and stop if you feel pain. If you have an injury or health condition, check with a qualified professional first.
