How to do it
A stretch for the front of your hips, which can get tight from sitting. Hold for the time shown on each side.
- Kneel on one knee with the other foot flat in front of you, both knees bent at about 90 degrees.
- Squeeze the glute of the kneeling leg and gently tuck your pelvis under.
- Shift your weight slightly forward until you feel a stretch at the front of the back hip.
- Hold, breathing slowly, then switch sides.
Tips and safety
- Put a folded towel under your knee.
- Stand tall rather than leaning far forward.
Move within a comfortable range and stop if you feel pain. If you have an injury or health condition, check with a qualified professional first.
