How to do it
A gentle way to raise your heart rate with no jumping. Good for any body size, and you can do it in a small room or while you watch TV.
- Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms by your sides.
- Lift one knee as high as is comfortable, then put the foot down softly.
- Lift the other knee, swinging the opposite arm forward each time.
- Keep a steady rhythm and breathe normally.
Tips and safety
- Hold the back of a chair if you need help with balance.
- Lift your knees higher or pump your arms faster to make it harder.
- Land softly; there should be no stamping.
Move within a comfortable range and stop if you feel pain. If you have an injury or health condition, check with a qualified professional first.
